The Farms
The Great Southern Ocean, with its Antarctic currents and pristine water, is an ideal environment to grow greenlip, blacklip and hybrid Abalone. Ausab’s Abalone Farms are located in this region. Spread through Victoria and South Australia, they can be found at Kangaroo Island, Port Lincoln, Port Fairy and Portland.
With state of the art facilities, Ausab Farms are entirely self-sufficient in all aspects of farming abalone. Staffed with highly qualified biologists and technicians, each site has the specialist expertise to consistently produce the highest quality greenlip, blacklip and hybrid abalone.

Growing and Farming Abalone
Growing and farming abalone is a delicate operation requiring the balance of skilled technicians, cool and clean water, and the best possible facilities. Ausab Farms produce the much sought after greenlip, blacklip and hybrid abalone in these very conditions.
Ausab meets market demand for tender and succulent product by rearing the abalone for between three-and-a-half and four-and-a-half years. It’s a long process that sees the abalone grow to between 85mm and 120mm – a size that guarantees the finest texture and an unsurpassed taste.
